nilchancetoday we're playing our Storm Lord's Wrath campaign, so I figured I'd do one of these for my tiefling Great Old One warlock, Key:
Key is a former member of an apocalypse cult that was trying to bring an elder god into reality and end the world. hence their name, Key, because the cult was convinced that they were the god's favorite and thus the key to unlocking the door between the material world and the Devourer. they're cheerfully oblivious to how horrifying this is, which means they're not a bit traumatized even if they're no longer willing to end the world by bringing the thing they call Tentacle Mom into reality because the end of the world = dogs will get hurt, and they love dogs too much to let that happen. Key's priorities are a little fucked up.
this isn't a perfect one-to-one match, lyric-wise, because a) it's more fitting for a fiend warlock and b) the Devourer is so vast and so alien that it wasn't even really AWARE of the cult or the fact that it's been giving Key these powers, but the vibes of "comforted and aided by the presence of something evil that would horrify most people" are there so I went with it. plus I just really love Ghost. XD
