7. Do you listen to music while you write? What kind? Are there any songs you like to relate/apply to your characters?
I live on music while writing. I have two separate writing mixes, plus the mixes I tend to make for each project. Only a fraction of those mixes ever get refined and posted, because in most cases I can't justify to anybody else why that particular song works for that character, it just does.
After a few rounds of listening to the mix while I write, the music starts to act as a kind of trigger phrase for me: this music is on, and so it's time to write. My tastes are eclectic and so the music is eclectic. When my computer was busted, and I borrowed T's, I turned on our TV's satellite radio stations and flipped between coffee house rock and hard rock.
LOLs because these things change, and also because you can see how cliched my fannish taste in music is.
Effigy, Natalie Merchant
Blackout, Muse (oh god, we're in SMeyer territory)
Uninvited, Alanis Morissette
Set Fire to the Third Bar, Snow Patrol
Breathe Me, Sia
Revolver, Mark Lanegan
I Wish I Was the Moon, Neko Case
Hold On, Hold On, Neko Case (damn you, Erin)
Winter Song, Sara Bareilles
God's Gonna Cut You Down, Johnny Cash (damn you, SPN)
Darkness, Darren Hayes
Destroy Everything You Touch, Ladytron (forever an x5-494 song)
Apologize, OneRepublic
Meds, Placebo (forever a Jeremy song)
Wicked Game, Chris Issak (from my old skool Mulder/Krychek love)
Stronger, Kanye West
Some Devil, Dave Matthews (damn you, Mona)
Heartless (Kanye West cover), Kris Allen (... yeah, I got no excuses here)
Southern Cross, Crosby Stills Nash and Young
California Dreaming, Mamas and the Papas
Lithium, Vitamin Piano Series
Waiting for the Night, Depeche Mode
O Children, Nick Cave
Bleeding Love, Leona Lewis
9 Crimes, Damien Rice (oh does fandom's FSTs love this one)

Ain True Love, Alison Krauss
Everybody Knows, Leonard Cohen
Natural Blues, Moby
