My theory on that spoilery scene where spoiler spoilers spoiler. Vague enough for you? Okay, why Jensen is a sneaky badass.



It's my theory on why Aisha shot Jensen. FYI.

Okay, I think it's interesting that as soon as Jensen realizes that she's got a gun on him, he doesn't shut up. He whines, he runs his mouth, he argues with the other boys. He turns in the middle of a Mexican standoff, and she shot him JUST as he was turning to make eye contact with (I think) Cougar. Like "I have her distracted, now shoot" eye contact between troops. This happens (I THINK) shortly after he's talked his way out of getting shot by security and after he's convinced the helicopter corp to land.

Even if Jensen WASN'T about to give the go sign, he was dragging out the conflict until her aim started to waver, at which point they'd shoot her anyway. And who was she aiming at, knowing that it'd keep folks from trying anything? The unarmed geek.

Compare with the standoff shortly AFTER, when none of them are armed. He shuts up. He doesn't move. He kneels.

Aisha: not a stupid woman. Jensen: like Spencer Reid, in a way.

One of my favorite things about that movie (and I really need a Losers icon, I think) was that everyone in it was smart as well as crazy and violent as befits an action/comic movie :D

Also, since you're the only one I know writing Loser fic I'm going to throw this plot bunny into your garden...The boys are all in the van and Pooch is making Clay and the other dude apologize - the scene wraps up with "Who wants to watch Jensen get himself killed?" Cougar, makes no reply. BUT what's running through his head as Jensen's running through the building asking Clay for an exit? Is he already in position calmly waiting to be the hero with the kill shot? Is he racing through the building across the street to beat Jensen to the place where he can be the backup? What if Jensen gets there first before Cougar's ready to back him up? What schmoopy words are exchanged later when Jensen responds (snark free) that he never doubted that Cougar would be there?

I really loved that scene where Jensen's hitting on Aisha and just messing it up and he walks away and she shrugs at Cougar. It's an interesting byplay between all three characters.

I'm tardy to the party but yes, I agree. Add in the fact that Jensen and Cougar seem to share a number of silent communications all through the movie where they look at each other and seem to know that the other is thinking or planning.

That makes total sense!! Love the mention of Spencer, too, because near the beginning when he went into the factoid about dogs and cats I said, "So, Jensen is Reid's long-lost brother?"
