I am not crafty at all, so I bought mine rather than making it. Those instructions look very easy to follow. One thing that I did notice is on the one I bought, it has kind of a triangle shaped cod-piece kind of thing where the 'O' ring is which has the dildo lower kind of where a penis would be attached on a man so you can use your hips in thrusting.
In the one here, the 'O' ring is a couple of inches higher and I wonder if it might put undue stress on the lower back because it looks like it might be hard for thrusting since it is higher than the hips.
But it looks easy enough to make, and not too expensive. It certainly looks worth a try I'd say. Good luck if you decide to make it.
