I love my family, I needed to be here for my brother and dad on the first mom-less Christmas, everyone is behaving well (being very careful about my shoulder and my limits), I know I'm privileged to be able to fly down and see them.

However: ohgod I miss my wife and my cats and my bed.

But also get the missing your wife bit. When my own mum passed (just before Christmas that year) the hubby and I were still new-ish as a couple, though we'd known each other for a few years, and boy did I miss him and need him at that time. So *hugs and good thoughts*.
