There's at least one fluffy kitten, possibility up to three, lurking around our back steps. The tortoise-shell kitten is a little ball of 'tude today, though yesterday she was running from us like her ass was on fire. Now she runs as far as the second step from the top and GLARES, like "hey! you there, the one that's twenty times bigger than me! you disturbed me! prepare to die."
The other kitty (...ies? I've only seen one other kitten, a tuxedo, and MIL says she saw a tiger-striped but it could be the tortie + MIL's bad eyesight) is too terrified to stick around where the hoo-mans are. I haven't seen a mother cat, though I'd imagine they came from the many many feral cats that get dumped out here. If I see her, and we can get her, she's coming inside, too.
So. If you can spare a good thought / prayer / energy for us, so we can get these kittens and/or their mama out of the winter where there's vet care and food and laps (ETA: after the necessary search on craigslist and a check for those microchip thingies, obviously), I'd appreciate it.
(ETA, the revenge: and if there's more than two cats involved, we may need to find the remaining kitten(s) a good home. We'll keep y'all posted.)

Date: 2010-12-20 03:31 am (UTC)We've got a couple of strays hanging around our house, too-- one who I think had to've been dumped or something because he's way too used to people and esp. small children to have never been a pet; and one who's thisclose to feral. She'll come up to the edge of the porch and eat the food, keeping an eye on us the entire time, all "evil human scum OM NOM hate you all MUNCH".
Good luck with the kittens!!
