Title: Try a Little Harder
Author:
nilchance
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Jensen/OFC
Warning: References to masturbation and het sex.
Disclaimer: Characters belong to Andy Diggle and to Jock. No profit made, no lawsuit preferred.
Summary: Trust is necessary to what they do.
Notes: This accompanies the story Straight On.
Trust is necessary to what they do. Jensen wouldn’t jump off a building without a safety line (well, maybe, if somebody was there to keep Clay from choking him after) and he wouldn’t go in with only his smart mouth as his bulletproof vest without knowing Cougs had his back. And the rest of his team, obviously, but it mostly comes down to Cougar watching over him like a creepy avenging angel who puts holes in people for a living.
Man, he’d laugh his ass off if he knew Jensen thought that.
What Cougar forgets is, Jensen watches him, too. He tries to compensate for the places Cougar can’t or won’t cover. Sometimes Cougar sees the world through the tunnel vision of a scope. There are lapses where Cougar loses the big picture for what’s right in front of his face. It works great in the field, but less great in suburbia.
This is the thing: the apartment has very thin walls.
He can hear the girl (Charlotte the Libra) and her lounge singer voice, her whimpers. He can still smell her on his fingers; if he was a better person, he wouldn’t slip them in his mouth. He wouldn’t slide his hand down to rub his cock as he listens to them, his best friend and his girl.
If he was a better person, he wouldn’t be listening for Cougar.

And it's beautiful. <3
