Ironically, after Obama failed to be our "fierce ally" and held up DOMA, I received my benefits explanation saying that T will be covered under my insurance now.

I'm not sure if it's a sign that I'm maturing, becoming more cynical, becoming more realistic, or just ground down, but I haven't been surprised that Obama has fallen down on the job on this front. I didn't expect more from him on GLBT rights, even though I hoped I was going to be wrong about that.

Doesn't make it hurt any less, though.

However, while I'm as pissed off as you are about the lack of a fierce ally, I'm thrilled that T's now covered.

Progress is moving sooo slowly and with plenty of aggravating setbacks, but at least it does seem to be moving forward. So happy for the two of you!

Glad things worked out for you!

I think Obama has pretty much failed at everything so far.
