Typed out before I read my flist, because. Well.

The people who already dislike John are going to have a field-day with the new material. I'm looking at YOU, Sera Gamble. ("He should take the new kid to BASEBALL GAMES!") Personally I'm trying to fanwank it, but the best comment came from T: if the kid got in contact with John seven years ago, Sam was at Stanford. This was after he LOST one of his kids being, well, himself with the crazed hunting and the tunnel vision and the training. I'm sure a brand new canvas looked pretty good. But damn, John, that's cold.

Anyway, I think Sam and Dean are having enough problems with Alec in the DA crossover, so. Fan-waaaaank.

- Wow, way to pick the ones who look like your dead wife, John.
- "Got one past the goalie." HA. This is my new favorite euphenism. Also, most of what I got from that diner conversation is that John was a big ol' manwhore. FTW!
- I love Jensen's facial expressions.
- Okay, Jeff, quit beaming like an idiot; John Winchester does not beam like an idiot. (I say this with love.)
- Jensen crawling in vents FTW. You know he loves him some John McClane.
- Jared kept dwarfing the sawed-off shotguns in his huuuuuge hands. Omnom. This is your Jared comment, because I don't know how I feel about the Sam storyline with the demon blood and the addiction and him becoming John's Mini-Me (or is that the other way around?). But he looked damn good this episode.
- No, I lie. I loved the training montage and Sam's John speech about never getting close to other people because they will DIE, DIE, DIE. And Dean's increasing alarm.
- I love the fast "Dad was right about everything"/ "since when?" / "since ALWAYS" conversation, because dude, our show does in one minute what it would take another show YEARS to cover. You had angst and reversal and resentment and individuation all in one MINUTE. Damn, dude. Sometimes the fast and furious emotional canon is a good thing, and sometimes... not so much. See, Adam.
- What is it with the Winchesters becoming exponentially HOTTER with the evil?
- I'm not sure I feel about Adam being a non-entity. I mean. Winchesters = family = EVERYTHING, y'know? And I wish John was still alive to come down on the wraiths like the righteous fist of GOD for killing his SON. But this muddies the water. I will fan-wank more about this later, probably, but I did love them giving him the pyre burial like Papa. Love is burnination, y'all. It feels weird that Adam was such a non-entity. We knew he was pre-med and in college and he had his unwed Mama. Nothing else but that he DIED. It's difficult to brain about it.
- No, wait, I love that Adam's mom became "Dad's girl" to Dean. I truly do.
- Okay, I love that this episode pretty much textually says, John did right by them. They're alive and together. Adam is dead and alone.
- "Take it any way you want." *clutch heart*

OMG. "No, I'm Jimmy." Miiiishaaaaa.

De-lurking to say: You = awesome
I love the way you've summed things up to that sentance!

Also I just had a very facepalm moment with the Jimmy clip... I was thinking "huh, strange name for an angel.. wonder what it's short for" then it hit me - I'm an idiot and that is why I tend to lurk and not speak *nods*

Oh DA/SPN crossovers, how I love you...

And I'm taking John's baseball games not as "John loves Adam more!" like many irate fangirls will, but instead as the favorite uncle syndrome. Uncle John isn't there for the day to day raising of Adam. He just visits every once in awhile, so of COURSE he's cool. Of COURSE he tries to cram in stereotypical "dad time" into these day long trips. Of course he's a completely different dad to Adam then he is to Sam and Dean who he DOES raise. Who he is primarily responsible for. Adam has his mom. Sam and Dean only have John and John has demons... he's gotta protect all his boys. He protects Sam and Dean by teaching them to be hunters and he protects Adam by staying as far away as possible, as much as possible.
