Does anyone have recommendations for video games? To give you an idea, we have a PS2, and our favorite games seem to be goofy and destructive. (Ratchet and Clank, Sly Cooper, etc.)
I'm fairly certain there's one, if not two, Buffy games for PS2. At least one. And those make ME happy anyway. There's lots of running around, stabbing vampires with stakes and watching them go, "AAAAAARGGH! *POOF!*". Also, at least in the 2nd game, you get to play Sid the Ventriloquist Dummy - which is comedy gold.
*giggles* Yep - I bought 'Chaos Bleeds' today for the princely sum of £4 in the 2nd-hand games shop. Awesome fun, particularly when you get to play against each other collecting bunnies! My housemate was all "bagsy Faith" and I was all "bagsy Willow" and then the glee commenced.
Other recommendations... Lego Star Wars ('II' is the original trilogy, if you're feeling purist) is great fun, particularly when you get to blow up barrels and boxes and things and they explode in Lego bricks. And you pretty much don't die in it. And when you've unlocked enough stuff you can play as Darth Vader or the Emperor and blow people up with the Force.
Dunno if crashing cars counts as goofy and destructive, but generally when we're having a drunken party round ours we play 'Burnout Revenge' on the modes where the winner's the one who causes the hugest and most catastrophic crash.
Lemmings! I got a Lemmings game for my PSP (and I think I have one for my PS2 that I never use) and it is so fun omg, but also really hard on some levels.
We go for generally-non-violent, don't-kill-your-partner games (I've got three kids and I don't like them "killing" each other. We play Lego Star Wars II (the original trilogy), Lego Indiana Jones, and Dance, Dance Revolution.
Kingdom Hearts, Jak & Dexter, if you're into cars, then Gran Turismo is fun, I love the survival-horror genre so stuff like Resident Evil, Clock Tower and Fatal Frame; when I play rpgs occasionally I go back to the original playstation and go with Final Fantasy 7 and ChronoCross. I tend to prefer the Nintendo series, though, because I love platformers like Mario and especially Paper Mario.
