This says so much. Sam wants to help Alec to be there for him, like the way he wasn't for Dean. To give Alec comfort, the way Dean won't take it. And I know Sam feels for Alec himself, but I think Alec is a replacement for Dean in the ways that Dean won't accept from Sam.
