Iron Man. *keysmash keysmash* LOVE. Yes. I apparently have a blacksmith thing.

More love? The Batman trailer. I had to go back and rewatch because I missed the significance of all Aaron Eckert's appearances. I was too busy staring in horrified fascination at the Joker. Is it JULY yet? Oh please oh please?

Not from this next one, because dude, that's going to be awesome no matter how you slice it. Christian Bale IS the scary bat god. But T and I were brainstorming possible villians for the next few, and, and, and... I want Ivy and Harley. For serious. I want someone making a Batman movie to take a scary, serious look at the female Batman villians. I mean, dude, a female psych intern being Clarice Starling-ed to the dark side by THAT Joker? Coming for revenge for the man/god who broke her?

And also: Robin 2. Jason. The dead one. Christian Bale reluctantly adopting his stalker this fucked up vigilante kid with mental problems, held up against the lover/user relationship between Ivy and Harley. Love and violence. WANT.

And why has nobody written the RPS AU superhero fic? Mikey and Tom and Jen and Jared as a league for great justice? ("You mean the Justice League?" "SHUT UP. They have super strength AND copyright lawyers!") Or Jeff the dark brooding hero with his butler, Jensen, who mops up the equipment, waxes the -mobile and takes out Bisou the Superdog for super-walkies?

*grins* Hell yes! Going to Iron Man and seeing the Batman preview right before was just fucking awesome! And that RPS AU thing - totally behind that - it would totally rock :D

It's not really deep and meaningful fic (very humorous, though), but [livejournal.com profile] troll_princess wrote a superhero bigbang last year.

I could totally go for that AU! Also, I know it's not quite what you're wishing for, but [livejournal.com profile] janissa11 wrote some of a RPS/Sky High crossover here.

man, Ivy/Harley is one of my favorite comics ships (probably second to Batman/Catwoman, who I've been shipping since I was like 4). I think they're still in a wobbly "wink-wink" state of canonicity, but who cares. they are awesome together. wasn't there a holiday special with them having wacky Christmas hijinks? also, I keep forgetting that Harley was entirely a creation of the cartoon - she fits in so well that it seems like she was always there

who would you cast as Harley and Ivy?

(Robin 2 probably won't appear on film, at least not in this round of movies ... I'm pretty sure Christian Bale said he'd quit if they brought Robin into it. but of all the Robin plots, Jason Todd is the most likely one to entice him to stay. Teh dark!)

T and I were talking about that... our votes are Lucy Lawless for Poison Ivy, or possibly Hudson Lake, who used to play Callisto on Xena. They both have that crazy, yet calculating edge.

For Harley? Nikki Aycox. With her crazy eyes. Though they'd probably want upper tier, in which case Sarah Michelle Gellar's crazy frail bony-ness may be a good attribute.

I (heart) Ivy/Harley. Harley deserved so much better than Mr. J. And yeah, I too tend to forget that she's not 'canon'.

Will Christian take a DEAD Robin? Would that help? (Though I hear he's back now in comics canon.)

And Jensen is gonna end up having to iron Jeff's costume because he's always so rumpled. And Jensen's gonna heave a huge sigh about how the criminals would never be afraid of a man with a wrinkled costume.

We need more decent female roles too. It seems like lately women are being shafted in the action genre (honestly though, when AREN'T they?) But there are so few awesome female roles in action movies nowadays, therefore I completely support your Ivy and Harley idea. If done right, those would be some freakin' AWESOME roles.

Totally. Even Jen Garner got totally shafted on Elektra. Ugh.

I totally want to see a dark, sociopathic eco-terrorist seductress earth mama Ivy. Pamela Isley is my favorite.

I want someone, anyone to take a female villain seriously, then maybe they will make a movie where they take a female hero seriously (in other words I want a jenny sparks movie)

I want a female villain to be taken seriously because she's smart, capable and dangerous-not merely crazy, you know? Like she's just a bad case of PMS run amok, or...Fatal Attraction, Gotham-style.

Hell, the kids' cartoon with Carmen Santiago had a female "villain" with more layers and strengths than most Hollywood movies! And she won a lot of the time, too. Hmph.

I just saw Iron Man yesterday. OMIGOD! I've always liked Robert Downey Jr anyways and him in a movie that lets him show off his acting chops like that, with a good story and nice effects that don't overwhelm the plot? I'm hoping like anything they *do* make that Avengers movie.

I wish they'd do a (really good version of) Witchblade movie. I like Yancy Butler, she'd do fine. Or, y'know, anyone else who was good. Just not turn it into a stupid cheesecake only flick.

Ever see any of the Cloak and Dagger comics? I have a graphic novel of one that I can't find another copy of anywhere and it's bugging me; I'd love to send it to people but can't get it. *is grumpy*

I'm trying to think of any female superheroes or villains who aren't sidekicks that I know enough about to *want* to see on film. There's always Wonder Woman-Lucy Lawless? She's kind of the default female "action" star, though nobody would believe her in the supposed plain jane disguise, hah-glasses don't hide *that* much. :)

This is a very good movie-based Ironman fic I just found. Thought you might like it, if you've not read it yet.
