Snitched from [personal profile] poisontaster: Comment here and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post the list in your LiveJournal with your favorite film(s) of theirs.

Actors

Quentin Tarantino: hands-down, From Dusk til Dawn. God, he was terrifying.
Vin Diesel: Chronicles of Riddick. He killed a dude with a teacup!
Jeremy Sisto: Hideaway. The movie itself was pretty bad, but he was so uterus-clenchingly gorgeous. Long skinny legs! Messy curly hair! There's a reason he's who I picture when writing early AKB!Jeff/Jeremy.
Seth Rogen: Monsters vs Aliens. BOB!
Tom Hanks: You've Got Mail. (Man, I love that movie. LOFF.)
Dwayne Johnson: the Rundown. UNF.
Joaquin Phoenix: Clay Pigeons.
Ben Stiller: Zoolander. "You can read minds?"
Samuel L. Jackson: Die Hard 3. Zeus!
Joseph Gordon-Levitt: Yeah, realizing that I haven't seen a lot of his movies... GI Joe. The 5 minutes in which he was allowed to be hot.

Actresses

Catherine Zeta-Jones: Chicago. She was amazing, but perhaps not so much so as Queen Latifah.
Dakota Fanning: Push. I loved Cassie and her badassery.
Whoopi Goldberg: Sister Act. I watched that tape until it broke when I was a kid.
Mary Steenburgen: okay, so apparently I have never seen even one of her films. Fail, me.
Julia Roberts: Flatliners. OMG I LOVE THAT MOVIE.
Minnie Driver: Phantom of the Opera. "Where's my doggie, bring my doggie, bye bye."
Christina Ricci: Addams Family Values. "I'll be the victim!" "All your life."
Uma Thurman: Kill Bill 2. I mean SRSLY.
Janeane Garofalo: Dogma. I wanted a movie about her character.
Joan Allen: Manhunter! oh yes.

So, you know, ask me for names and you shall receive.

I'm going to have to school you on some JGL. Mysterious Skin and The Lookout, in particular.

You've never even seen Parenthood or the 3rd Back to the Future movie?? I haven't seen a lot of Mary Steenburgen movies, but those were so big!

Have you ever seen The Contender? Best Joan Allen movie EVER. She is such a badass in it. But a very feminine one.

Mary Steenburgen--Cross Creek. An oft-revisited favorite, with bonus Alfre Woodard, Peter Coyote, Dana Hill, and Rip Torn in what's probably my favorite of his roles. A romanticized bio of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings during the period she was writing The Yearling. Lots of things to love, including a languid look at pre-Disney, pre-NASA Florida.

Vin Diesel: Chronicles of Riddick. He killed a dude with a teacup!

OMG Yes, this absolutely. Although The Fast and The Furious comes a close second for me. But Riddick though. Epic awesome.

And names please! Danke!

...why don't I have a Vin Diesel icon?

Also, I feel a little shocked about the whole "You've Got Mail" thing. Not judgy, just surprised.

See, there's a lot I find problematic about that movie, to say the least (starting with the big business vs little business, man vs woman nature of the larger plot arc) but I watched it a lot with Mom, it was one of her faves, and it was a movie about love like mine and T's. It was one of the first "you can find love on the 'net and not get eaten alive by a serial killer!" films.

Oooh, me! I would like to do this meme.

Also Addams Family Values, yes! That movie was one of the best parts of my teen years and left me with a lifelong love for Christina Ricci. :D

Joaquin Phoenix is amazing. Have you ever seen 8MM?

If you haven't, I'd not suggest watching it in a low/depressive mood-it's dark, stark, grim, and extremely well-acted, along the emotional tones of Seven. He co-stars with Nicholas Cage. Not a movie I'd watch repeatedly, as it's sad; but in terms of craft, well worth seeing.

Quentin Tarantino: hands-down, From Dusk til Dawn. God, he was terrifying. I agree. He was so wrong and fucked up and George watched over him anyway!

"I'll be the victim!" "All your life." I think that line all the time about people around me.
