oh i really don't like that attitude in the fandom. people have a right to see what they see and believe what they believe, but I have felt that the show and JDM have shown the complexity of the john character very well and what has come through the most is his love forhis boys and his fear that makes him willing to die for them and also has made him deal with them so wrong, but in the end, he's cool. the awesome papa w.
