three weeks postop

I got my drains out yesterday! it took the three full weeks to get down to the fluid output they wanted, unfortunately, but I am done and feeling much more human. the drain bulbs made it hard to gauge how FLAT my chest is now, and it delights me every time I see my reflection. I even managed to get into my favorite t-shirt today instead of a button-down. good gender feels.

I have to continue to wear the surgical binder for another week, sadly. my ribs and sternum are not pleased by all this continual compression, but I'll live with the discomfort. still chafing at the restrictions, but I'm halfway through at this point. I took a solo walk today, and I can wash my own hair in the shower. getting better every day. \o/
