Because I'm home sick with the BLARRRGH.

- Too crazy for clearance: "Getting, and keeping, a clearance requires fitting in all the right boxes and staying there. One of the boxes that tends to get clearances denied or yanked very, very fast is a mental health condition."
- A dude would wear that, and you're a beautiful woman, so you should not wear this: or why, despite my love for What Not to Wear, it makes me wince a lot.
- Another post about rape: "If we teach women that there are only certain ways they may acceptably behave, we should not be surprised when they behave in those ways. And we should not be surprised when they behave these ways during attempted or completed rapes."
- You don't have to make it work out: "Sometimes you just have to go. You’ve had the difficult conversations, you’ve used your words, you’ve tried, you’ve walked a mile in the other person’s shoes, you’ve stood up for your needs and given the other person the opportunity to meet them, and at the end of it – you’ve just got to go. They don’t have to mistreat you horribly. There doesn’t have to be some terrible crisis or airtight case that your family or your soon-to-be-ex-lover or your Inner Chorus of Judgy Self-Criticism has to accept. Put your own oxygen mask on first."
- I have daddy issues: "Lately I've been getting a lot of It Happened to Mes about fathers. Dead fathers mostly, but also beloved fathers. This is one of the few ways fathers are a part of my life, since I don't have much of a relationship with my own."
- Tiny beautiful things: "My question is short and sweet: what would you tell your 20-something self if you could talk to her now?"

I love you. I love the fucked up meandering journey that our life is. I love every moment of laughter and tears, heartache and joy.

You're a smart, strong woman, and I'm so blessed to share this road with you.

The things I could tell a 20-something me...don't. Just DON'T, to so much! Makes me a little ill when I think about this kind of question, I don't like it, even in speculation. It's like the "what if you won the lottery" game. D:

...jsyk, I sit here and try to think of things to say, just so I can talk to you, because I kinda miss you. Hopefully, interesting, witty things, but dumb things will have to do, when needs must. \0/

what would you tell your 20-something self if you could talk to her now?

I'd go further back. I'd tell my 16/17 year old self;"RUN LIKE FUCK!!* It doesn't matter if you have to rough it for a few weeks or a few months even. It'll be better than THIS."

Feel better soon. :)

*I wouldn't say it today, we have murders here now, but then? The street was probably safer than my house.
