The library has seasons of Six Feet Under for free rental. I found season 4 first, so I'm watching it on fast forward until I find scenes I want to watch. SFU seems much better and more entertaining when performed in silent pantomime with judicious applications of Jeremy Sisto's forearms.

Jeremy has dimples. I tend to forget this because he usually plays assholes or sad pandas. And also his character apparently slept with his mother's boyfriend in college? I mean. Thank you for the fanservice, show that's been off the air for six years!

I really want to rewatch SFU--if Netflix were to get it on streaming I'd be happy as hell. I'm not up to quite that much downloading though.

You caught my attention with Jeremy Sisto doing mom's boyfriend. I know, I'm really just horrible like that, but I don't actually care about the plot right now. I'm just curious about that.

Yeah, I had only seen the first season (and only about the first half of that) and I was in that same boat, trying to figure out if we could afford to Netflix it or if I could find it on download. I really lucked out with the library thing.

Kidnapped is available through hulu, though!

It's kind of this throw-away one line in a scene, where Billy is like "do you think I should tell Mom that I slept with (Mom's boyfriend) in college?" and it's a joke about how inappropriate their family is that a) he's seriously thinking about doing it to fuck with her, and b) that she'd probably just thank him for expressing himself. But the scene continues without talking about it beyond that. I... really wanted to hear more about this bisexual affair he had, and hit rewind a couple times because did I mishear that? No, no, surely someone would have MENTIONED that to me as incitement to watch the show, right? RIGHT?

Yeah, I'm really just watching SFU for the fanservice. I don't know that there is a plot, beyond fanservice.

Was the guy the mother's boyfriend at the time, or did he become the boyfriend later? Different degrees of ~awkward there, and entertaining either way! ;D

Well DAMN IT. That guy, though, man. He is all about the gay subtext. He did this episode of Nightmares and Dreamscapes, which was on TNT I think for like one season and he was this escaped con who went on a kind of killing spree to get revenge for the death of his friend. Anyway, he was totally fucking that guy before he died. At least in the show, it was so completely slashy it was almost funny.

Hee. I was actually thinking about clarifying that point to say it wasn't his biological father and when it happened, but I had more episodes to watch, dammit!

It was before the mother got together with the boyfriend. The dude was Jeremy's college professor at the time, though. I really want that fic to magically appear before me now.

He seriously is! He loves him some gay subtext. I don't know if he's actually played gay text or not, but subtext: yes. In the one movie he did with JDM, they had so much hate-fuck subtext that Jeff made a remark in the commentary about "I kept wanting to call Jeremy 'boy'."

OMG, I must find a copy of that episode, that is so awesome. *beam*

I haven't seen that :( I want to, though. Maybe to JDM, he is a boy...? Idk, he's probably older than Jeremy Sisto, but that doesn't take away from the eye-fucking factor.

I have to see if I can find that movie.

I wonder if the professor knew who Jeremy's mom was when he started dating her? That would have been one awkward introduction, bringing him home to meet the family-and EEK! it's his ex-boyfriend...the one she had no idea about because either she didn't know he was gay/bi/~who it specifically was.

And I just realized that "it's his ex-boyfriend" could work equally well for either of them.

If I remember correctly, there are other scenes with that professor - if it's the same guy I am thinking of. Claire's boyfriend has him as a teacher and he kind of takes the boy under his wing and ends up sleeping with him. That coupled with Billy's throw away line about warning his mom that he already hit that - and I was always under the impression that the professor had done the same sort of mentoring/seducing thing with Billy back in the day.

Man, now I want a rewatch of all Jeremy and Rachel's stuff - they were the best part of the show anyways.
