Scent review: Fuzzy Teacup
Feb. 10th, 2011 03:47 pmAnother smell bent limited edition, although this one is currently available on the website.
Scent note: “white champa flower paired with peach, jasmine, cream, honey and muhuhu oil. this cup runneth away with our hearts.”
A quick note first: I have mild synethesia, that perception that colors have flavors or sounds have smells. It's never interfered with my life; it's just that 4 is green and 6 is orange, and occasionally while reading fic my mind will associate certain scenes with places I've been, such as a Power Rangers fic I read long ago being tied inexplicably together in my brain with the entry hallway of my apartment building. (It's not that they had sex against a wall, or anything like that; a completely gen h/c scene where Billy had amnesia was tied to that hall, only that hall, with the scent of french fries and the buzz of flurescent lights. It's weird.)
Long story short, I associate the scent of this perfume with the sweet piercing clarity of a soprano hitting a high note. The peach is like that. I don't know how else to phrase it.
I had to look up muhuhu oil; the site I found lists it as a "balsamic" smell, which could be what I'm getting that's sharpening the peach&honey to a cutting edge. Vinegar, but not unpleasant. I do not smell any cream or jasmine or white champa, which is good, because after the Little Miss Panda debacle I feel wary of Smell Bent's jasmine. All in all, the scent is sweet but not food-y, not too complex (despite being in a "surreal perfume" line called Radio Dada) and I like it more than pretty much any other perfume I've ever smelled. I would roll in this if I could. How's that for a recommendation?
5 out of 5.
