About posting all my personal stuff over on DW.

1) I'm feeling crazy-insecure over my ability to write raven-verse.
1b) Despite this, I'm tempted to open up the 'verse to other writers ala PT's A Kept Boy universe. I doubt anybody would want to play there, but hey, who doesn't love plotty kink? And Jared is open for grabs!

2) I am anxious about returning to work. I feel much better than last week, when I ended up in the ER, but... well, ER. And I've been spoiled by nearly a week with my wife.

3) I bought rollerskates in order to exercise. Our dog has spent the last several minutes with his snout in the shoe, pushing it around and steamrolling the cats. *facepalm*

4) Jensen Ackles sure is pretty.

I love all of your work, in no small part because you have the ability to tell interesting stories, aside from any fun or hot smut.

But the Raven!verse is one of the best things you've done so far. It's very intense, mythic, emotionally satisfying, and it's going to have to be *long*, to hit the full arc the way you want to. I don't doubt you're having some moments of quail! It would be easy to stop writing it, to play with easier things and get distracted, or to cut the story short and tell yourself you don't have time, etc. Writing anything is a commitment, and how much more so when it's something that's so close to you? Especially when there *are* RL issues that get in the way, damn them.

You can do it. You *are* doing it. *waves pompoms*

And yes to #4, indeed.

I'm glad you're feeling better. Stay out of the ER!

I happen to Love the raven 'verse but really, can anyone else write it without crawling around in your head, it's kind of... I don't think there are a lot of writers out there who could just pick that up and not get lost... but hey, if you want to give up the plot and cut to the porn...

pretend i didn't just say that, i hate when people say that.

for the rest... i don't know what to tell you other than dogs are stupid but they love you uncondtionally so you know, YAY.

sorry, this is pretty much a meaningless comment.

1. *hugs* I have every confidence in the world in your ability to write this 'verse, but I understand how it might be a little different for you. After all I just get to bask in the final product. You're the one who has to work through the process to write the final product. I adore your work and I've never been disappointed in anything you've ever wrote so I have confidence in you.

2. Work is nice because it provides routine. Occationally routine is nice. Work can also be a source of frustration and anxiety though, so I can see why you're not thrilled to be returning.

3. Good luck with the skates! I lack the ability to skate and I've decided I've now grown too tall, too far away from the ground, to properly learn to skate. Learning to skate is the providence of very short children who don't know what it's like to break a wrist.

4. Yes he is. *g* Very, very pretty.

Hmmm. Considering I spent a fair chunk of last night and this afternoon converting your (and your wife's) fics into word.docs so I could upload them onto my eBook reader and re-read them all at my leisure no matter where I am, in my personal opinion you have absolutely nothing to feel insecure over. But we all know insecurities are seldom logical, so I think you're just going to have to take my (and a considerable legion of fangirls') word on it. *G*

I think opening the world to other writers would be a great idea, but unless the other writers are going to stick to the non-mythical parts of your 'verse, you might have to spell out your thought processes on the subject a little more. Or just wait a little longer until the story unfolds a little more. Or just let people wing it! *G*

I'm glad you're feeling better!

You're flailing because it's that part of the story when any author worth hir's salt flails. You're too far from the fun, thrilling craziness of the beginning and too far from the breathtaking drama of bringing it to a close. It's the muddy, plotty, mind and back breaking middle and this is what we do. We flail. You have flailed before at this part of this story and you'll flail again on the next story when you hit this marshy middle place.

And we'll still be here to help carry you over the worst of the muck. Or at least kick you in the ribs and tell you to straighten up and fly right. :D

As a reader, I can't give you much pep talk except to say that raven'verse is top on my reading list. Has been for a while. I don't mind if it takes a while to thrash out the middle, I have confidence in you and your vision.

Playing catch up by sneaking from work.

Raven 'verse is probably one of my fav reads and I look forward to each part, even if I don't comment. Which is my issues and absolutely nothing to do with your writing. *smiles* It's stunning, well thought out and freaks the heck out of me at times.

Good luck with returning to work *hugs*

Heee... that image just makes me smile.

Yeah he is *sighs* *g*

I've been slowly catching up on LJ things after a long hiatus, and the Raven-verse is definitely my FAVORITE discovery. I read all of it at breakneck speed, and am simply dying to see how everything unfolds. It reads as effortlessly sensual even when there's no explicit sex; the horror makes my skin crawl; the mythology elements get my myth geek high; and Jensen. You've outdone yourself with this one - this is the single strongest 'can someone just take him home and feed him soup?' reaction I've ever had. When by "someone" I mean Jeff, Misha, and Jeff's array of sex toys, what!

Best of luck with work and rollerskating too!
