*headdesk* Oh. My. God.

So what, now do I send Sunshine back? *ponders* (I have a lot of trouble reading books by people who say stupid/offensive things, it's very distracting.)

What is the deal with people who think they know the President's racial identity better than he does? He has been totally candid and straightforward in saying he identifies as a *Black man*!

I cannot imagine what goes through their weird little heads. Are they *that* terrified of his reality?

Bah.

I am having difficulty getting my head around the idea that people are legitimately going around saying things LIKE "he's a white guy with a tan."

It's like there's too much 'wtf?!?!?!' in the statement for my brain to process.

(Did they perhaps miss all the footage of celebrations in the village in Africa when he won?)

Yes! I mean, wtf? They have to change him to be able to deal with him? Jayzus.

He is *my black president*. It's been so fucking long since i've *wanted* to claim the president as my own, as the person who is in charge of this country.

And that man is *Barak Hussein Obama* and he is *black* so get the fuck over it, people. Gods.

It's not like his background is a huge secret.

Some people are clearly just weird. really weird. Or possibly stupid.

I'm thinking 'ignorant plus stupid' over 'weird' any day.

Delightful. So... President Obama's own views on his racial identity aren't really something we need to consider? Good to know. *sigh*

Oh for pity's sake. :-P And here I remember really liking Beauty and had Sunshine on my to-read-soon list. Feh.

oh damn. I hate it when writers whose books I adore reveal themselves to be so fail-y personally. I may occasionally reread the works I already own, but certainly won't be buying more of her titles

I think that really falls into the category of what the hell? And which planet are you living on?

Seriously? Seriously?

I can't even find the words, so I'll borrow Mark Twain's: “It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.”

WHAT.

WHAT?!?!

Are you KIDDING ME???

I just... I'm nowhere near as active in the race equality movement as a lot of others on my flist, but this is absolutely horrifying and enraging even to me. I don't know if it was mere stupidity, or a manifestation of an honestly held belief, or designed to provoke, but that is probably the most awful thing I've seen today. And I've been looking at financial news for Iceland.

Argh, goddamn it! Just when I think published authors can't get any more stupid. And I actually liked her too.

Well, one more off my list.

The fail list just gets longer and longer... I need to make sure I write this stuff down because normally, I'd *headdesk* have gotten a great many of these author's books.

Okay "statements" like she made just confuse the crap out of me. I guess I just expect people to actually listen and see what is right in front of them. *sighs*
At least she wasn't on my fave author list, so I haven't been helping her along the way.
