Another thing I really love about this universe, and it relates into how you slip from magic to 'the real world' is how you switch from lyricism into a much grittier prose, but make it flow seamlessly. I think a lot of this universe is about contrast, conflict. Two-sided. And as above, so below; it's in the ideas, it's in the language, it's in the characters themselves. It permeates the whole universe and that's really...impressive, if I can use that word without sounding condescending. It takes both work and talent to make something that fractal in nature...and I know you have/do both in spades, but that doesn't stop it from being amazing each time I watch you do it again.
