Definitely sending good thoughts. Also, both my cats had kidney disease, which I was able to treat with daily (and eventually semi-weekly) fluids administered at home. My baby girl lived for 4 years after that, nearly all of them healthy, so I will think positive and hope for the best.

I tempted one of my cats to get some sustenance by offering her the liquid from tuna packed in water. So basically tuna juice. It was the only thing that I could get her to eat or drink. If you are needing to try stuff, try that. Best of luck to you in this difficult time.

As someone says above, giving your cat an IV every few days can help. Our eldest is 18 and we've been treating her at home for about two years. There is prescription food for kidney disease that is lower protein and higher fat. With the combination treatment, our cat went from eminent heart-attack status to normal levels. She's gained back much of her weight and is very happy. If you can afford the food and if your cat will tolerate the fluids, I highly recommend it. Our cat seems to have made the connection between fluid and feeling better so she hardly complains at all. Good luck and best wishes.
