I absolutely adore the mix of Greeky mythology and uber-technology. It's got this gritty post-apocolyptic feel to it, combined with so much technology and social structure, that people must be drowning in all the rules. I love the little glimpses of Jensen's past we were able to get. The mental picture of a three year old being mentally shoved into a chaotic impersonal ocean of information, and then callously waiting to see if he survives... it was chilling. It also tells so much about the culture Jensen grew up in. I love how Jensen uses the corset to force himself to stay in the here and now, instead of letting himself get swallowed by the Uplink. The general public may think he's nothing but a computer with a pretty meat suit, but little details like that show just how smart Jensen is. How he knows how to survive, even though it's a constant fight. And even though Jeff wasn't physically in this story for very long, you could feel his presence in every moment. Jensen is as impacted by Jeff's silence, as Jeff's mental touch.
This is such a facinating 'verse and I'm so glad to see more of it! The sexual tension is scorching. You guys are amazing to have built up so much tension even though Jeff and Jensen have barely touched each other.
