I have to echo the first comment, though. For some reason, my mind went to him slipping his hands around her neck and choking her... and then I started thinking, "Why has no one written any stories about what he did while he was possessed between the point of his capture and his boys finding him?"
I'm pretty sure he didn't spend the entire time tied to a bed... old Yellow-Eyes would have way too much fun making him do evil crap to allow that.
