SUNSHINE. Kittens! Rainbows! Hot nuns! Dean eating things! Maybe some frolicking puppies!

(And dude, now I get what Jeff was talking about in the CW web interview, when he was all "I want to save Dean! Why can't John save Dean??? NEVER MIND that he's dead!")

My narrative kill-your-darlings meanness is GONE. I respect Kripke so much for holding the line. Man, that was brutal.

*nod* That would be AWESOME if John showed up to save him.

And yes, brutal and amazing, and props to the effects guys, because HOLY SHIT.

Kripke. Respect, man. I'm so very glad he went there, he could have copped out but I would have been bitterly disappointed if he had.

Why do you want Dean to eat frolicking puppies...? *blinks, re-reads*

Seriously, I *do* think it's great that Kripke stuck to his plot intentions. There's giving the fans what they want, when it can help the show; but there's also kowtowing to the point where you're narrative is crippled. (I'm thinking of The Wrath of Khan and then the lame Search for Spock, a particular irritant.)

I'm waiting for the wave of Dean-in-hell, Sam-saves-him-or-goes-evil-and-joins-him fics that are surely going to result from this ep.

Hoping, too, that the next season doesn't fumble the great set-up with a too-easy resolution or waste Dean's potential importance on how it's just a way to get at Sam, etc.

I WISH John had been able to save Dean, or at least *be* there. :(

HA! Ooops. My unfortunate word placement, let me show you it.

I know the John thing is totally my fannish wish fulfillment, and I'd be displeased if Kripke went there because so far these things have CONSEQUENCES. But I do wish we'd gotten some Bobby reaction, since they've been pushing the Bobby-as-father-surrogate thing.

Indeed. But I'm still all, O NOES DEAN.

I know! The last ten minutes, T and I were all, "that's not it that can't be it that's not-- OH GOD."

My fear of spoilers made me miss the interview, but yes that would be so cool. Daddy to the rescues :(

Man, that was awful and brutal, yes.

I'm glad they actually went there, but man it hurt to watch. I watched the finale last night and desperately wanted either fluffy fluff fluff fic, or something darker and tastier like what you write. I actually re-read some of your baby-feral-Dean fic because Bobby SAVES Dean in those, yet it's not ooey gooey candy fic.

I want John to save Dean too. :(

Bobby's probably reeling, inside. He's admitted how much he loves those boys and has come down hard on their side as "family"-and then to lose them both to death, revival, soul-selling, Hell? This isn't a situation where the understandable parental reaction is to check 'em over to make sure they're not hurt, then beat the shit out of them for scaring you, can fix.

Mostly, I'm hoping that the plot will follow up on the idea of Dean's soul being valuable because it's *his*, not just for Sam's sake. Not just a sidekick to provide motivation for the hero's angst. He's worth more than that.

If I could have one wish for next season fulfilled, that would be it. 'Course, I wouldn't refuse a dark!Sam on the rampage, either. Or pissed!Bobby on the rampage. Or ghost!John...you know. Rampaging.

I want John to the rescue damnit. Dean needs a freaking hug. And well, to get those meat-hooks off. I want him saved and comforted and just...need the sunshine and kittens.

The episode destroyed me. I do understand that they sent him to hell, but...I don't know. I didn't want it to happen. Maybe that makes me a hopeless fangirl, but he totally deserved a last-minute rescue from that.

I loved this episode. There were some FANTASTIC lines in it, so funny and hurty all rolled in together.

And Dean screaming "Sam" at the end? *whimpers*
