More stuff from the Losers comics, from the last few pages of vol 4. Huuuuuge scans of actual pages. SPOILERS under the cut.

Background: Clay, Cougar, Aisha and Pooch are stranded in the middle of the ocean. They had to leave without Jensen, who they're presuming is dead. Clay actually says the words "(his death) is on you for disobeying orders" to Cougar (because he's kind of a dick like that) and Cougar is pretty much like "fuck you, white boy, I'm going to go over here and GRIEVE."

And then.

SRSLY. This is how Jensen managed to surpass Cougar as my favorite favorite. (And then Cougar TACKLES him. God, I made such dolphin noises.)

Then I finished up the last few pages and squeed to [livejournal.com profile] beanside, pausing to note that I didn't think that movie!Clay would drop that particular guilt on Cougar because SERIOUSLY, and she was like, "no, I think he would. He's just that emotionally constipated; he can't be sad, so he gets angry in the wrong direction."

Which is why my wife is brilliant times eleventy.

I LOVED this scene. I haven't been able to get my hands on vol 5 and I've loaned out all my other vols and am having a bit of a craving!! Thank you so much for posting this! It definitely helped!

Thank you!

Have you gone through the whole comic yet? Because there's another Crowning Moment Of Awesome for Jensen (and I mean, AWESOME) and another d'aww Cougar/Jensen moment.

I don't want to spoiler you in case you haven't read the whole comic, but I guess this counts as a motivation to read it faster?

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I haven't, no. I'm a little leery of the $100+ for a used copy price tag. Facepalm, Amazon. But I'm starting to get a withdrawal twitch. *g*

(I love that icon, btw.)

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a torrent around somewhere, if you can't resist reading the whole thing before buying it. :)

(Lol, thanks. It was done on a whim and I have to say I quite like how it came out).

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
oh REALLY. That is relevant to my interests.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Having dl'ed the KOFFKOFF: only one CMoA? I counted like 3! Which is AWESOME. And oh Cougar, you're my favorite again.

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 03:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Among all the awesomeness there's one that comes out on top (the thing with the robot).

Cougar is <3. And d'aww at their little scene towards the end.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I loved the thing with the robot! But I also loved "fuck you, company man," because it had been coming for 32 issues.

I was no more good with the hug. I was a mess. "I'm coming back for you." Oh, my heart. My poor wife came home and was like "holy crap, what happened?" and I was like BAWWWW. It was a sad state of affairs.

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol yeah, that was awesome too. But if there ever is a sequel, I want Roque to have made it out of the plane (like in the comics), so that Jensen can have his moment.

Thinking about it, if there is a sequel, I want the whole OH NOES JENSEN IS DEAD! JUST JOKING! So we can have bear hug!Cougar.

Yeah, I was all DDDD: with the hug too. Oh Jensen, oh Cougar. And then when he finds out the Sheik isn't there he's all 'I could have stayed with Cougar'. DDDDD:

You have to admit, though, death-by-nuke is badass.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
It was such a good death. (Ditto Clay's, actually.) But I was still like OH FUCK YOU, ANDY DIGGLE about it for like an hour.

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
:) That's why I'd reccomend reading the comics AND THEN watching the movie. The sad ending turns into a canary yellow stretch Hummer.

And the Petunias. :)

I'm sorry to jump in the discussion all of a sudden and spam you but I just finished reading the last two issues and I couldn't stop tearing for half an hour. And then re-read it and I bawled again. It's an endless cycle. And I think this is the only place I can discuss this, it seems, without spoiling too many people?

I love them both to pieces...though I was kinda hoping Jensen would go back after him anyway...

I kept reading and was under the assumption that Cougar is a Spanish... turns out he's a Hispanic (Mexican American?) or... did I get that wrong?

[identity profile] dorcas-gustine.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)
though I was kinda hoping Jensen would go back after him anyway...

Yeah, me too. :(

Hm, he's Mexican in the comics, but I think the Spanish thing comes from Oscar Jaenada being Spanish.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-14 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
YESSS with the bawling. My god. I think what kills me is that Jensen lives and Cougar doesn't. I could've lived with both of them being dead, or both being alive, but Jensen surviving THAT just... gah.

[identity profile] ardentsinner.livejournal.com 2010-05-15 08:05 am (UTC)(link)
I know what you mean, [livejournal.com profile] nilchance. Together in life and death? If they both died, it would have been tragically poetic. But Jensen alone...is sad and depressing and an opening for many, many Angsty!Jensen fics.

I loved how Jensen was all teary eyed (more for Coug as compared to for Clay) and how he told Stegler straight out that Coug was his best friend.

The thing that saddened me most is, it was a death-by-nuke. And he was like right next to it, so there's zero chance that he'd survive, unless by some magical freak accident, he'd developed some super powers and kept it a secret.

And, thank you, [livejournal.com profile] dorcas_gustine. Makes sense. Oh well, Cougar/Oscar's still a sexy bastard, regardless.

[identity profile] tiki-92090.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
That's so cute! So do you recommend buying the comic? I could only find the first volume online.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I definitely would. The art can be a little jacked sometimes but the writing is good.

[identity profile] spazzer-mctwich.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
that was probably one of my favorite parts of the comics. I was floored when Jensen "died" then not only is he alive but but he saves the day and reveals himself to be a nija.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 08:55 pm (UTC)(link)
All that time around Cougar has paid off! In sneakiness. (And maybe oral sex.)

[identity profile] storm-petrel.livejournal.com 2010-05-10 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh sweet baby jesus, this is relevant to my interests.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Mine too. oh, boys.

Ah, the GLOMP! The best glomp I've ever seen anywhere, really. I squeed so loud when I read this part!

When you watch the movie, there's very little Cougar/Jensen, but in the comic! I don't see how you can ship anyone else.

[identity profile] nilchance.livejournal.com 2010-05-11 02:54 pm (UTC)(link)
That is like TEXTBOOK glomp.

[identity profile] damion_starr.livejournal.com 2010-05-21 07:08 am (UTC)(link)
I, too, freaked out in this scene. First I was like "JENSEN! NO! Clay, you get your ass back there and get him!" Then he shows up and I was like "I am SO sorry I doubted you, sexy." Then THE HUG and I squealed and flailed. Bad. That was at like 4 in the morning, too, cause I'd gotten all the volumes and was reading them back to back. Though about halfway through the volume 1 and 2 book, I had to put the book down and was just like "okay, I'm slashin' them. I'm slashin them bad." I think it was during the scene where Jensen does his fake telekinetic shootout, thanks to Cougar's made shooting skillz.

Then this happened. XDD

I'm not sure whether movie!Clay would've blamed Cougar. Maybe, cause he does get angry, but the thing I liked about movie!Clay is that he cared about his team. Comic!Clay was more focused on revenge and, quite frankly, a bit of a douchenozzle. But that's just my opinion. ^_^

[identity profile] alesca-munroe.livejournal.com 2010-06-21 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's interesting. Only watched the movie, but this page makes the comic look like it would've been a really good read
