- Oh no he DIDN'T just use John's name in vain. MAN, the look on Dean's face... although I'm deeply amused that John comes up in comparison to God. *snerk* Our father who art John Winchester, badass be thy name?
- Castiel looks like he's from the land of the little people when he stands by Dean like that. And his eyes are like 75% of his face. Also, it seems Misha's idea that Castiel neglects the host is valid, because the 5 o'clock shadow and gaunt face? Epic.
- AHAHA, Castiel staring blankly at Sam's hand. Awesome. And then he clasps it between both of his own and my heart goes smoosh. Sam needs a Castiel.
- Uriel? BADASS. Awesome-cakes. I love that Misha inserts these pauses where you can do call and response. "He's what you might call..." An asshole? "... a specialist."
- "What kind of specialist?" A SPECIAL specialist, Dean.
- Oh, Dean, attempting to menace the specialist. Heart.
- "Astronaut!"
- SOW-EHN. Sow like a pig. Ehn like a macro. As I was telling T, given his background and his hippie mom, I could totally see Misha attempting to correct the director in his way. "Uh. I don't know if anybody's told you this? But it's not Sam-hain." And the director all "go away kid, you bother me."
- Wow. It's been a while since I had to avert my eyes from an episode, but the boiling for apples thing? Yeah, I cowered against T going "aiiigh aiiigh tell me when it's over!"
- I love Dean's "just because Babe Ruth was a dick" metaphor. That's actually profound, in a weird way. And I love that I can meta whether Jensen Ackles, with his Baptist roots, gave depth to that line.
- DAWG. Has somebody been home, Jensen?
- The blood on the faces. Oh, Jensen and Jared, so pretty.
- The locked in the zombie tomb thing. UGH. That'll teach you kids not to have parties in tombs! A day after your classmate got BOILED.
- I love that last scene, with the playground and the kids and the trees. I love that Castiel prayed for Dean to spare the town, that he calls God his father and expresses Dean-like doubts in his father's mission. Nice touch. And I love that Castiel probably prays for Dean, and for Sam.
- When Sam was walking towards Samhain? The lighting was gorgeous.

Are you serious? I've always heard it as Samhain! And Kripke had it wrong? For shame.

Castiel basically looks like an anime character with giant eyes and carefully teased hair. I dig it. (Dean digs it too, but he doesn't want anyone to know.)
Uriel is scary. I approve of this. When an ANGEL calls us "mud monkeys", that tells you something about how the show's decided to treat angels.
On the other hand, Castiel holding Sam's hand like a grandmother with a precocious, yet annoying ten year old? Made of Awesome. Somehow I think that's about all the comfort we're gonna get in the hurt/comfort equation this season.
And I like that that last park scene with Dean and Castiel mirrors the earlier park scene with Castiel and Uriel. I get the feeling that Castiel hangs out in parks a lot, pondering the art of humanity... while mother's pull their small children away from the smelly man in the overcoat.

I wibbled. SAAAAAAM! And Castiel was all hesitant... like it *means* something. Hmmmm. I wonder what shaking hands means to an angel?
Also, I am so 99% sure that Sam is one of those humans that can see Castiel and Uriel in all their glory.

Yes yes yes to all this.
Oh, and as of last night I've revised my *meh* for Castiel, replacing it with OMG Dean/Castiel = WANT. nownownownownow

Blessings to you this Samhain, sweetie!
