Cat update:

After a long wait yesterday evening, during which Millie (the 15 y.o. cat mentioned in yesterday's post) had plenty of bloodwork and love, we found out that her kidney and diabetes check came back completely clean. In fact, the only things the vet found wrong with her were her thyroid (overactive) and her teeth (in need of cleaning). Both are things that can be easily fixed.

We brought her home last night. Millie is a tired, cranky girl. Apparently she hid in the carry-bag at the vet, only her ears showing, and sighed irritably a lot. She spent her time last night sleeping with everybody who'd let her in, probably curled up with Grandmom. They're two tough old birds.

Right now we're waiting for the rest of the bloodwork to come back, but for right now, we're okay. Samwise keeps trying to get Millie to play, coming right up on her and nudging her gently, then head-bumping her and tearing ass down the hall. It's cute. Last night even our neurotic dog Kyan sniffed her and sat down next to her, looking contented. She's home and he is pleased. We're all happy about this reprieve, even if it's temporary. I left yesterday morning for work, figuring I'd never see her again. Never pet her sleek little head and watch her slit her eyes and purr, or watch her wallop Sam upside the head.

For everybody who commented yesterday: thank you very much. It made all the difference in a lousy day, and I can't help but think all the good vibes helped us bring her home. Now we've just got our fingers crossed for the last bloodwork results.

I'm happy for you guys.... yesterday brought a lot of bad news my way, on several fronts, and I didn't comment, but I'm glad to hear that things went well.

I'm really glad that her health seems turn out to be better than what you have thought. I don't have a pet, but I understand how you poor girls must have felt. Lots of love.

I need to check my f-list more often! I just read your last post about her and decided to check your LJ for an update. It's good to read that she's okay and home again after your scare. Here's hoping that the next results are as good. *crosses fingers!* <3
