We are at contxt. Ordering room service, because we are lame. Also, when fangirls say loud room, they mean LOUD, dude. Goddamn. Had good panels all day, hung out with awesome people, saw the Hulk (meh, but charming).

Right now I can walk short distances without the cane, so in room I have this Keizer Soze moment of tossing the cane onto the couch. I can walk! It's a miracle! Or, y'know, a flare up in which I need the cane for longer distances, but that's no fun to say.

How is everybody?

\o/ How was it? Any interesting and laughable suicides? My personal favorite that I've heard about was the lion thing, which made me go "..." at the computer.

YAY! We will be the cranky old men on the balcony together. *hands*

It's hard to say. See, first I have to clarify that I LOVE Shyalaman's movies to an absurd degree. So I liked it (but didn't love it) and I thought that there's a REALLY interesting (and possibly fic worthy) idea behind it (that I may ramble to you about in email if you don't mind me spoiling you like crazy) but, in the end, I thought it was missing an essential quality that I attribute to his movies that leaves me feeling somehow mentally changed (just a little bit) after his movies. It's funny, though. I thought Mark Wahlberg really did a bad job in the lead (and in general, I like him all right) and then I looked on IMDB and it says that Shyalaman wrote it with Wahlberg specifically in mind. Heh.

...and you can shake your cane at the kids and I'll yell "GET OFF MY LAWN!"

Ooo... how was The Happening? Is it worth going to see?

I enjoyed it. And, FOR ME, there was a very visceral horror to it. But I think it's the weakest of all his movies and I think a lot of people won't like it. So it's hard to say. But I'm glad I went to see it. And it's given me some interesting ideas/thoughts and I always count that as a success.

Cool! The only one of his movies I haven't seen was the last one (Lady in the water? I can't remember the exact title). Loved all the others, though.

Yeah. I'm always in a weird position with Shyalaman, because I LOVE his movies a lot. And a lot of people don't. So I'm hesitant to say "OMG SEE IT!" to someone when I don't know how they feel about his work overall.

As I said, I thought there was a very visceral horror to it that I enjoyed a lot. And I'm a sucker for apocalyptic or pseudo apocalyptic stories ANYWAY. *nods* If you like his work, I think you'll enjoy it.

*g* Very cool. :) I wasn't super fond of Unbreakable, but the other three? LOVED them.

*nods* Yeah, Unbreakable was definitely a better IDEA than an actual movie, imo. But not terrible and it was definitely original. But yes, I like all the other movies a LOT more.

I looked for you two at con.txt, and didn't see you. Or far far more likely, I did see you, but didn't see your nametags and so didn't know it was you. I suck like that at cons.
