Scent review: Dr. Dreidel
Dre. Dreidel is smell bent holiday limited edition. I love that the holiday update included non-Christmas scents.
Scent description: “she acted like she’d never seen gelt before” Freshly carved hiba wood, spiced with angelica root and pimento leaf. Go for a spin.
I'll be honest, if the holiday update hadn't included a 5/$15 shipping-included deal, I never would've tried this. Pimento leaf puts me in mind of pimento loaf, and I don't want to smell like a meat product unless it's bacon. I sniffed the imp with much trepidation, and realized, oh, it's kind of nice.
The scent stays at pretty much "woody and spicy", which is cool, because it's a good place.Comforting. I realized as I was looking up the description that it smells like a cologne my dad wore. Not sexy, but reassuring and non-threatening. Good scent that people who like the classics would enjoy, because it's not some avant-garde thing that smells like moldy cheese and spunk. (Yes, that is a thing. No, I'm not linking. Rest assured, it is very expensive.) Some perfume reviewer pegged it for smelling like Drakkar Noir, the scent of choice for certain pro-wrestlers. I didn't get that, but I can see how one might depending on body chemistry or something.
3 of 5. Not my favorite ever, but a good default smell for a Tuesday (T actually said she liked it) and a good comforting smell. Also might be a good introduction scent for boyfriends/husbands, if you had one around.
