Guilt, for "driving her away", for "not fulfilling her needs"; she was cheating on him before she ever left LA. Intense anger that he pushes down. Suicidal intent. He left home in large part because he couldn't spiral downwards there, not with his family around and uncomprehending of what he's willing to do to avenge her. He can't just move on, he's STUCK. And the pressure is building up.
