Hmmm. Flannel. I had an odd thought once that the show really did portray Sam and Dean as small town boys, and focused on small town life. They've been in cities once or twice, but hunters in general seem to focus on small towns, and dress in ways appropriate to them. I think they make Sam deliberately stand out here, to be honest. He doesn't wear flannel.
