It's been kind of a crazy-ass fall around here, and as a result, I've barely had time to read things that crossed my flist and/or that people whom I trust have enthusiastically rec'd.
And you know, I've been hesitant to venture into Jeff/Jensen fic, mostly because while same gen Wincest doesn't bother me, Daddy Wincest does, and I fear character bleed.
But I like your Jeff and Jensen, and I was thinking about rereading the Jeff/Jensen hooker verse (which I adored and owed fb on, but seem not to have linked or logged, damn it!), when this appeared.
Now, I've only read it quickly, and I only read it once, and I'm exhausted, so this won't be 100% coherent, or up to normal ivy standards, but I wanted to at least leave y'all something.
Y'all should know by now that I am a total mark for the wounded butch thing in fic. What can I say--I'm easy that way.
And you've certainly got a running head start on piquing my interest with an overly protective Jeff who plays by his own rules and suffers no fools, esp. of the behind the desk type.
I adore the way that you've managed to take one of the key aspects of Jensen--his profound skill at reading situations(he strikes me as an actor who is incredibly astute and sensitive in his ability to read/intuit the emotions in a given situation, because if he couldn't read that well, he wouldn't be able to deliver the subtle performances he does)--and turned it into a big part of the story: part of his job, part of his personality/natural talents that have been amplified/drawn on by his job.
On top of that, you've already built a fascinating world that I want to know more about, but you write about it with such confidence and detail that I'm not lost as I read.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing where this goes, even if it means I may have to wait for hookerverse.

Thanks for crafting and sharing it.
