Hmm... I'm sorry it pulled you out of the story! It'll be touched on in the sequel again, and it'll kind of become obvious that it's a weird combination of Dean's innate luck, Dean forging the hell out of his transcripts, and...outside assistance. Otherwise, yeah, it would be slightly unrealistic.
