The beginning of the end. *sigh* What a long and splendifurous road it has been...

I love Dean's wariness at the beginging, when he wouldn't turn his back on John or Sam. And I swear every male in the world automatically drinks out of the container! Get a glass! *hmph* Anyway, like I said last chapter, it's all very well for John to tell Dean he loves him. The proof is in consistently demonstrating that he treasures Dean above other things that Dean believes John values more. John saying that he chose Dean over Bobby, et al is kind of a hollow victory for Dean. For one thing, it didn't come to that. It's just what John believes he would have done, if he hadn't been able to break free. But he did break free. Plus, it isn't something that Dean saw or experienced himself. But the big thing to my mind is that the demon is now gone. The one true thing that Dean could have measured his worth against in John's eyes is no longer part of the equation. I honestly think that Dean will always and forever believe that, in the heat of the moment, John would pick getting revenge for Mary's death over Dean's well being. And I don't think he'd be wrong. I'm glad John realizes it's going to take more than one talk with Dean to set things right.

Dean's encounter with Sam should be interesting.
