Dean's issues with figuring out his family are a combo of not remembering everything, and remembering a lot of the fucked up moments like Sam shooting him, Sam leaving him, John snapping him, etc. That plus Dean's apparently inherent tendency to put his family first equals yeah, poor Sam and John are kind of in for it.

Dean's kind of not comfy with his family right now, and badly in need of time to curl up in a corner and wince things out without having to keep up the 'everything's fine' teeth-gritted macho act. Plus, he has all sorts of twitches whenever John gets too close to him. So, yes. *grin* Good times.
